The DataSensing IL8 / IL9 Series consists of miniature cubic inductive proximity sensors designed for reliable metal detection in compact industrial automation systems. These sensors feature a small 8 × 8 mm square housing that allows installation in confined spaces such as robotic mechanisms, assembly equipment, packaging machines, and precision automation systems. They detect metallic objects without physical contact by generating an electromagnetic field and monitoring disturbances caused by nearby metal targets.
The series includes two structural variations to suit different installation needs. The IL8 sensors have a sensing head positioned at the top, while IL9 sensors place the sensing head at the center of the housing, providing flexibility for mounting and detection orientation. Built with AISI303 stainless steel housing and IP67 protection, these sensors deliver strong durability in demanding industrial environments. Multiple connection options such as M8 connectors or fixed PUR cables are available, along with PNP or NPN outputs and NO or NC switching configurations, allowing easy integration with PLC and industrial control systems.
