The DataSensing S3N Series is a family of miniature photoelectric sensors designed for industrial automation and object detection tasks. These sensors are built in a compact rugged housing with IP67 protection and offer a wide range of optical functions, including diffuse, background suppression, polarized retro‑reflective, through‑beam, and transparent object detection capabilities. The models are available with visible bright red LED or laser emission and support various adjustment methods such as single/double trimmers and TEACH‑IN push button setting for ease of configuration. IO‑Link connectivity is integrated in selected models, enabling extended monitoring and parameterization for intelligent system diagnostics and maintenance.
The series is the successor to the previous S3Z line, bringing improved optical functions and advanced features like laser background suppression and enhanced clear object detection for challenging applications in packaging, pharma, food and beverage processing, and conveyor systems. The S3N sensors support detection of shiny, transparent or colored objects, and offer flexible installation options with M8 connectors or cables.
