The SC1805 and SC1808 Series are M18 cylindrical inductive proximity sensors with analog output, designed for applications requiring continuous distance measurement rather than simple on off detection. Unlike standard proximity sensors, these models provide a linear output signal proportional to the distance of a metal target, enabling precise monitoring of position changes in real time. This makes them especially suitable for applications such as dancer roller control, displacement measurement and RPM monitoring in industrial automation systems.
With continuous distance sensing, the sensor detects the exact near and far position of a target, allowing accurate tracking of movement such as dancer roller displacement. This enables smooth tension compensation through PLC based control, supporting precise PID adjustments to maintain consistent material tension during unwinding and winding processes. The result is more stable machine operation with reduced mechanical stress, helping to extend machine lifespan by minimizing vibration, shock and wear. The series is available in 4 to 20 mA (LA models) and 0 to 10 V (LV models) outputs, and features a rugged IP67 design for reliable use in industrial environments.
