The Telco SpaceMaster™ SM 8000 series are robust industrial photoelectric sensors designed for a variety of object detection tasks including long‑range thru‑beam, retro‑reflective, and diffuse proximity sensing. In the thru‑beam pair, the SMT 8000 MG J transmitter emits an infrared beam that is detected by the SMR 8520 MG J receiver, allowing detection of objects interrupting the beam up to 20 m away. These sensors operate on a wide 10–30 V dc supply range, offer sensitivity adjustment and selectable light/dark switching, and are housed in durable M18 stainless steel for harsh industrial environments.
The SMP 8400 PG 5 diffuse proximity sensor detects objects via reflected infrared light at short distances (approximately 0.5 m), while the SMRR 8400 PG 5 retro‑reflective sensor detects targets via a reflector at up to around 3 m. Both models share a rugged M18 plastic housing, IP67 protection, and include LED indicators for power and output status. All sensors in the SM 8000 family provide stable detection performance with high immunity to environmental interference, making them suitable for automation systems, conveyors, packaging machines, and material handling applications.
