The CONTEC DIO-1616LX-USB is a USB 2.0 compatible digital input/output module designed to add industrial-level digital I/O capability to a PC. It connects via USB and supports USB2.0 and USB1.1 communication, making it suitable for general data acquisition and control applications that require discrete signal handling through a computer interface.

The module provides 16 optocoupler isolated input channels and 16 optocoupler isolated open-collector output channels, all operating with 12 V to 24 V DC signals. The isolation protects the PC and I/O signals from noise and ground faults when interfacing with external industrial equipment. All input channels can be used as interrupt-request signals, and the device supports Windows and Linux via dedicated drivers and API libraries.
