The ESPE EFP2 Series Type 2 is a no‑dead‑zone safety light curtain designed for industrial personnel protection that meets EU Type 2 safety standards (IEC 61496‑1/‑2) with Category 4 / PL c performance based on ISO 13849‑1. It offers redundant safety outputs, internal MCU self‑diagnosis and cross‑diagnosis, and reliable wire synchronization to guard against interference, making it suitable for lower‑risk machine guarding where machinery safety is required without the higher performance level and cost of Type 4 solutions.

This series supports External Device Monitoring (EDM) to oversee the state of connected safety devices like relays and contactors and reset options (manual or automatic) to comply with safety protocols. The no‑dead‑zone design ensures that the protective field has no gaps between beams, providing continuous presence detection. Its robust aluminum housing, IP65 protection, and a range of beam and height configurations make the EFP2 Series adaptable for applications such as automated cells, conveyors, packaging machines, and light guarding tasks.
