The Hokuyo KAD-200 and KAD-300 are laser-based distance measurement sensors designed for crane collision warning and proximity control in industrial environments. These sensors use a reflector and phase-difference optical measurement method to calculate the distance between the sensor and a reflector target, allowing control outputs to be triggered at configurable set distances. The KAD-200 covers shorter ranges up to about 20 m, while the KAD-300 extends detection up to around 30 m with additional relay outputs for multiple distance thresholds. Both models include built-in self-diagnosis and fault outputs for reliable operation in material handling and crane safety applications.
