The ReeR EOS2 Master Slave Version is a configuration of Type 2 safety light curtains designed to protect larger or more complex hazardous areas by connecting multiple light curtains in a cascade (series) arrangement. In this setup, one unit operates as the Master, controlling the safety outputs, while additional units act as Slave (Primary or Secondary) devices that extend the protective field. This architecture allows multiple light curtains to function as a single safety system, ensuring that any beam interruption across the entire connected area triggers a machine stop signal.

This solution is particularly useful for applications such as L-shaped or multi-side guarding, conveyor systems and large machinery where a single light curtain is insufficient. The Master Slave system maintains consistent safety performance including Type 2, SIL1, PL c Cat.2 compliance, and supports integrated features such as External Device Monitoring (EDM) and selectable automatic or manual restart. With simple hardware configuration via M12 connectors and no programming required, the EOS2 Master Slave version offers scalable and flexible machine safeguarding.
