The Hokuyo CWF-01A / CWF-01B / CWF-02A / CWF-02B are compact, mid-distance optical data transmission devices designed to provide reliable serial communication without physical cables. Using FSK-modulated light, these units achieve full-duplex bidirectional data transmission over aligned optical paths up to 50 m, eliminating the wear and maintenance associated with traditional trailing cables or slip rings.

They support both RS-422 (CWF-01A/B) and RS-232C (CWF-02A/B) interfaces, with Type A and B variants configured with complementary modulation frequencies to ensure clear, interference-free pairing. Built for industrial environments, they offer robust resistance to vibration, impact, and noise, operate from 24 VDC, and include a warning output when reception margin drops below a threshold.
